sustainability of a brand’s domestic and international growth depends on an ability to ensure that it, and no-one else, is in control of its brand identity. it does this by protecting its intellectual property. in the case of a branded goods company, this protection centres around its trade mark portfolio. s&a has assisted numerous clients over the years to understand and execute the right trade mark registration strategy. by working in close partnership with a global network of well-respected trade mark attorneys, we manage this aspect of our clients’ businesses to ensure that, as they grow, the ip foundation of that growth is secure. alongside their trade mark rights, our clients frequently own or develop patents, copyrights and design rights in their products. again, we work closely branded goods companies. if a product sells well and gains an international reputation, it will be targeted by criminal organisations who seek to take advantage of that reputation by distributing fake
